AS AN ARM OF OUR UGANDA WC PROJECT

HANDWASHING

INTERVENTION

We currently fund 8 handwashing units across urban slums in Kampala, with an expected reach of well over 100,000 people. These are regularly stocked with soap and water by volunteers.

COVID-19 is an unprecedented global challenge that requires a coordinated response, but small actions in communities like social distancing and handwashing are expected to have a tremendous impact in slowing the spread and flattening the curve.

We live in a world where 3 in 5 people don’t have access to even basic handwashing facilities AND 40% cannot wash their hands with soap at home (UNICEF). We refuse to see this lifesaving action as a luxury.

We are regularly reviewing the situation to see where and how we can support vulnerable people in Kampala, in partnership with Kids Club Kampala.
